How Can Chronic Cough And Ear Congestion Be Treated?
I have been coughing very hard and deep for days. Went to an Urgent Care nearby and they prescribed Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray and Amoxicillin-Clay 875-125 MG tablets. My ears are clogged, my nose continues to run and when I cough I feel like someone sucker punched me. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Need not to worry. I would suggest you take preventive measures such as take steam inhalation on a daily basis. Apply mist humidifiers in the room. You should continue with the prescribed course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. Your symptoms will resolve in one week.
If symptoms keep on persisting, then you should consult ENT specialist and take proper treatment. You should get an x-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and mucolytic agents.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
