How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?
Doc says I have upper respiratory infection, not bronchitis. Yet, I have a dry, non-productive cough that I cannot suppress. Hydrocodone, benzonatate (tes perl), codeine....nothing touches it. Sometimes, the cough is convulsive. It hurts and no one can help it go away. It s crazy-making. What is happening?

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection.
I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.
I also recommend using mucolytics for a cough.
I suggest drinking liquids.
If the symptoms continue I suggest taking prescribed antibiotics.
