How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

I have had a intense cough for 3 days and have been taking Metamucil dm and the cough doesn t seem to be getting any better. The mucus is clear and have no fever. Just getting tired from all the coughing. I have no vomiting but have muscle aches from coughing so much. What should I do to alleviate this cough

Hello ,
thank you for your question . If you were my patient i would suggest to undergo complete blood count , to check which fraction is increased . I am thinking of allergic reaction , due to the lack of other symptoms . If the blood test is suggestive of allergy , you could treat it with antiallergic syrop .Hope it will reliev your symptoms
