Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has developed a dry nagging cough since starting some new medications. He is taking amlodipine, atorvastatin and losartan for blood pressure and cholesteral. Any idea which medication may be the cause and is there a better alternative? Thanks
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern. Cronic cough can be related to the medication, used for high blood pressure. You should see your cardiologist to have a suggestion for this side effect of the treatment. Some advices that I can give to you are: -staying hydrated -gargling with warm saltwater, -use cough drops, -use honey, and ginger. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
