Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2016. Have not felt well since then. I have had a persistent cough since July 2017. Had pneumonia in September 2017 and the flu in January. Still coughing. Three chest xrays have been clear. For a long time it was a dry cough, now I am spitting up phlem. It is sometimes thick but always white. I tested negative for allergies, negative for sinus polyps. Cough syrup does not work. I cough so hard I pee on myself. I have pooped on myself also. This is getting to be hard to deal with. Can you please help me?
There are two main things which causing cough. One is heart failure for which you can use diuretics and the second one is lung problem. Which you should diagnose first what is it? Then take a medical prescription accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
