Hello,

The Parkinsonism patients with old age are prone for repeated infections due to:

1. Poor immunity status
2. Prone for repeated aspiration
3. Decreased reflux activity
4. Side effects of drugs.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what the cause for aspiration is. Please consult your doctor physician so that he will examine and take x-ray chest and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
