How Can Chronic Cough While Suffering From Bronchitis Be Treated?

I believe I have chronic bronchitis that today has flared up to a cough that I cannot relieve. I have been taking a tussin DM and mucinex along with OTC cough drops. I do not experience pain with the cough, nor is it productive. I have also been drinking honey and lemon in water with a dash of rum. Is there anything else I can do to relieve the cough or something I should stop doing? My next step is to breathe over a bowl of boiling water, perhaps with a dollop of Vicks Vaporub or something containing YYYY@YYYY

Medication for cough control is not something that MD usually recommend particularly in patients with chronic lung diseases. In very specific circumstances we would probably give low doses of codeine for a very short time
