How Can Chronic Diarrhea Along With Chills And Fatigue Be Treated?

My 69 year old healthy husband visited his 96 year old mother in a rehab facility where she is recuperating from a bone fracture. She was fine Wednesday. When he returned on Thursday, warning signs were posted on the doors to the patients bedrooms warning of a contagious stomach virus. Now my husband has had severe diarrhea the past two days, has chills, is exhausted. Will time be his best friend or should he seek medical attention?

Hi
Thanks for trusting HealthCare magic for your health problems.

In your case try 1 day treatment with paracetamol tablets for chill and fever along with drink oral rehydration solution (dissolving sachet in 1liter preboiled water - WHO approved) as much as he can.
If it's not controlled by the above treatment you can seek medical attention for proper investigation and conclusive diagnosis.

Regards
