How Can Chronic Diarrhea And Bowel Incontinence Be Treated?

I have been experiencing over the course of one day severe diahrrea, runny loose, very few hard stools. I have had no control of my bladder and have over the course of 24 hours run back and forth. It starts in the bed and drips and by the time I reach the toilet the remainder of the BM is minimal. Then I experience severe nausea and take Promethazine, and usually 1mg of Clonazepam. After resting for a very short time, it starts all over again. This occurred over a period of 7 hours. At this point I had no nausea and felt very good and relieved. What can you advise that I should do in consideration of this knowledge and summary of symptoms I just gave you? Thank you, Donna Victoria @ YYYY@YYYY or phone YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should start taking plenty of oral liquids and ORS that is much better for you with antibiotic like ofloxacin+ornidazole, and probiotics like sporolac ds TDS. That is a case of acute gastroenteritis and it will go away with such treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
