His stomach is swollen very big and last week he started passing a lot of blood through his bowels. He drinks alcohol daily and keeps waiting for this to go away. Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns.

Based upon his symptoms may be drinking alcohol is one of the cause for his continuous diarrhea. He needs immediate treatment with antibiotics like metronidazole and even iv fluids must be needed for him and observation is necessary as there will be many complications with continuous diarrhea like low blood pressure, acute kidney injury etc.

Hope this answers your query.

Regards,
Dr.Alekhya.
