How Can Chronic Diarrhea Be Treated?

I am having diarrhea for the past 4 days. Started taking anti-diarrhea capsules on the 3rd day, not easing up. have some hyoscyamine from 2008 from a previous stomach problem. Is it okay to take these at this time. Have to go out of town tomorrow, and need to address this problem.

Hello,

No, do not take hyoscyamine drug and all for stomach pain, since diarrhea can come for any reason and if it is infectious one, then it will continue to progress inside and spreads to the other parts of the body also. So, if you can take antibiotics to treat the infection it is better.

Take an antibiotic like Amoxicillin, Ofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Norfloxacin, etcetera full course dosage based on weight for 5 to 7 days, then automatically diarrhea will subside.
