How Can Chronic Insomnia Be Treated?

Hello im male 38 I take methadone maintenance daily 45mls other meds propranolol 60mg, quetiapine 75mg, prozac 20mg,diazepam 6mg, vitamin B and thiamine I m finding it hard to sleep at night would taking a small amount of promethazine (Sominex) half a tablet to try help me sleep? I m pretty used to my regular medication & I m weening of diazepam so working towards just taking just the propranolol which has seriously helped my horrible panic attacks & anxiety disorder, the quetiapine is for severe depression with the glycerine(prozac) I panic easy so will taking half a Sominex (promethazine) be ok?? or it could make me have a panic attack!! I fall asleep but wake up every hour!! Thank you if u can advise me. Mike

. Well, insomnia may be difficult to treat, but there are some methods which can be used. Treatment options include behavior and lifestyle changes, medicines, and complementary medicines. You need to change your dietary habits and these include changing your sleep area or schedule, watching what and when you eat and drink, and being more active. It's also important to keep regular bedtimes and wake times-7 days a week-and to try to avoid taking naps during the day. Prescription sleep medicines amy also help and include diazepam and similar medications.Melatonin is supplement which may be of help as well. In severe cases special testing is needed.
