Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I apparently have chronic kidney disease. Am having to take NSAID; Dr. just prescribed Meloxicam; also, for dry mouth, have been taking Pilocarpine and Hydroxychloroquine. Will these affect my kidneys. Oh, also, he has now prescribed Omeprazole EC. By the way, lately I ve been experiencing dizziness, some nausea and light headedness. Are these causing those symptoms? Thank you.
We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, firstly based in nausea and dizziness fresh renal functions should be done and Creatinine levels and urea levels should be monitored. NSAIDS should better be avoided to maximum and acetaminophen can be used as alternative analgesic. Tramadol is safe but may worsen dizziness. Keep good hydration if urine output is good.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
