How Can Chronic Pain In The Hip Joint Be Treated?

I have chronic joint hip pain, it occasionally pops and really is painful. Have been on medications for several years and really would like to be medicine free. I worry about my liver deteriorating. I recently had a blood test that said my liver enzymes are fine, but I feel at my age all of it is not good for me. Is there any other route to take? At 56 I want to feel better, and want another option other than surgery.

Hi sometimes if surgery is really indicated, it is better to get it done, rather than take a lot of medicines lifelong.
Only alternative is local pain relief measures like hot and cold treatments--hot wax, ice, TENS etc ---regards
