How Can Chronic Pancreatitis Be Treated?

I have chronic pancreatitis and thought an attack was happening about a month ago and went to the ER. I was told my Pancreatic levels were fine as well as my White blood cell count. I was put on omeprazole for Gastritis and did feel better within a few days. I have been having lots of constipation however and was wondering is that a side effect I also have some horrible Panic attacks sometimes a few hours after eating.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since the amylase and lipase levels are normal it will not be pancreatitis. No need to worry as of now. Continue your routine drugs and stick on to your doctor’s advise. You won’t develop another episode if you follow your prescription and diet accordingly. Do not ever drink alcohol. You can take laxatives like lactulose for constipation. Have healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
