How Can Chronic Sciatic Pain Be Treated?

Hello, I have chronic pain and have been trying out different methods to help, since It is difficult to get a prescription for hydrocodone now. I am not an addict and do not even think about taking it when not in pain. I started taking generic cymbalta, baclofen and meloxicam, about 3 weeks now. I still have break through pain and started CBD oil, these medications are helping but I still have break through pain and it is becoming exhausting and distressing. I ve been studying low dose naltrexone and am wondering if I should add that or if there are any other things I could do for relief of chronic pain, from various problems, herniated disc- sciatica, degenerative disc disease with structural damage in my cervical area, and hip pain. Thank You.

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I am very sorry to hear that you have so much pain and with all those diseases causing you so much pain. For chronic pain, there should be a treatment to be given.

I suggest you that nowadays there is a department which is emerging called pain clinic from the anesthesiologist. Since, I am also an anesthesiologist, I know better about it.

All these kinds of trial and error medications are tried there and whichever best suits you and relief you will be given to you for the long term. Even there are many procedures to control cute pain there like sciatic nerve block, lumbar sympathetic block, and etcetera.

If you go to any nearest pain clinic, you will get worked up with all this and you can lead your better life. You should not tolerate so much pain also so kindly do go to a pain clinic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
