How Can Coccidioidomycosis Be Treated?

I am taking Sporanox for valley fever (coccidioidomycosis) in liquid form. I have severe diarrhea almost daily and during the night. Is there a anti fungal I can take that will not have that affect on me and one that also will not cause hair loss. Before Sporanox I was taking fluconazole in capsule form and changed meds due to extreme hair loss.

hi mam/sir,i agree with you that azole group of drugs which you have been using, have many adverse effects.but for valley fever, ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole are the standard regimen of treatment.amphotericin B is reserved for refractory and severe progressive pulmonary or cases involving lungs extensively.diarrhoea and hair loss occurs with both fluconazole and itraconazole.minimal hair loss occurs with ketoconazole and diarrhoea is rare.so, with your GP consultation, you can have ketoconazole 200-400mg/day oral.hope you got a satisfactory reply.any other queries, please let me know.thank you.take care.bye.
