How Can Cold And Cough In An Infant Be Treated?

My 9months old baby is suffering from cold and cough.In my last visit my doctor gave me solvin cold for cold 4ml 3times a day.so i gave that medicine for cold for one day but now i have observed cough.can i give mucolite medicine to my baby with solvin cold medicine together and for how many days i have to give him???please answer my question
