How Can Cold In An Infant Be Treated?

Dear sir My son is 1 year and 4 months old. He got cold last night. Can u please suggest us the remedies for curing. Also can we use zinda tilismath for him or not. The important one is he is not at all interested in eating any food. Please help us in this issue to feed him. Regads K Vinesh Kumar.

Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thanks for putting up your query.
If I were your treating doctor,I would recommend,
-Nasal irrigation by saline nasal drops.Clearing of nose may help baby to eat food.Feed in propped up or sitting position.
-Sinarest syrup to be given for decongestation for 2-3 days.
-Adequate intake of water to stay well hydrated.
-Avoid exposure to second hand smoke or indoor air pollutants like stove.Keep house clean and tidy.
-Promote healthy diet containing fruits and vegetables.Encourage drinking warm thick soups and porridge.Give small amounts frequently.
-Look for the danger signs -inability to take feed,worsening general condition,difficulty in breathing,fever.If it occurs,visit paediatrician for further management.
As per literature,zinda tillismuth is an herbal medicine used in cold and without side effects.
