Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have colagenous colitis so I m use to diarhea and am on a dairy free diet. Yet, the past two weeks I have suffered from bloating, cramping abdominal pain along with diarhhea. I feel little relief from going to the bathroom and have a burning sensation after urinating.
Hello, Thanks for the query. collagenous colitis is a kind of inflammatory bowel disease affecting middle aged individuals. As a first line of management you can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for symptomatic relief. If the symptoms are much severe, you may require immuno modulators like 5-ASA and steroids. In that case you have to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. As of now include more fiber rich food in your diet. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
