Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m speaking on behalf of my sister who is on her way to my house. She was told she had pink eye 2 weeks ago and everyday she gets worse and worse. She has seen 4 or 5 doctors, all with diff. diagnosis and has been prescribed all diff. drops. Her eyes are red, swollen, hurt and she has knots in her neck and face from this. She has been sitting home crying all morning because she said she couldn t take it anymore. We are going to Callahan Eye Foundation in Birmingham, Al when she gets here. Have you any idea or suggestions for her?
Wash your eyes with plain water, put in plain Mosi eye drop 6 times a day and Ciplox eye ointment at bed time.Read the brochure of Ciplox D carefully, it is written that prolong use can cause cataract, glaucoma, and fungal infection.
So avoid Dexamethasone and use Moxifloxcin eye drop and Ciplox ointment. Do get back to me in case of any further query please.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
