Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Consistent Cough While Suffering From High BP Be Treated?
My husband has had a consistant cough for about 6 months now. After several visits to the doctor and multiple rounds of antibiotics, the cough is still present. In December, he went back to the doctor and was diagnosed with pnuemonia in both lungs. He was given shots, 1 daily for 2 days and the cough eased up a little but is still present. The radiologist sent us a letter registered mail that said they had found a small spot on one of his lungs. Do you have any suggestions of what this could be? Possibly where he had pnuemonia for so long before it was diagnosed? BTW, he is a healthy 38 year old male. He has never smoked but he does have a history of high blood pressure.
Your question is very specific and the answer is a bit complicated. From what you describe, an abnormality on the imaging of the lungs is probably not of great concern but there is too much information missing for this forum to answer completely. The usual plan is to have imaging repeated after time for something temporary or inflammatory to take care of itself. You should let your doctor know that you received the letter so that he or she can coordinate a follow up study in a few months.
