Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Well, this is embarrassing! 61 year old white female. In last year I have changed my eating habits to more healthy choices, and exercising. I have lost 50 pounds since 1/1/16. Feeling much better, however, the last 10-14 days I have noticed what looks like coffee grounds on my underwear. GROSS! I did have a experience of pretty painful constipation last week, for several days, but has now improved. I do have a history if IBS. Should I follow up with PCP?
All I know about PCP is Phencyclidine. Also known as angeldust. Probably the scariest of all drugs. Was used as a horse tranquilizer. Makes the user hallucinate, become extremely violent, and not feel anything. People have been known to do horrible things to themselves while under the influence of PCP. DO NOT USE PCP. DO NOT. IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE.
What you are experiencing is an age related change-constipation and IBS come concomitantly with greying of hair and falling of teeth. It is just that your nerves are tired and old. For your satisfaction you can do your fasting blood sugar tested on two separate occasions to rule out Diabetes. The latter is a common cause of neuropathy. Otherwise, THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY. You can start Neurobion tablets which will strengthen your nerves and may restore the bowel habits. Godspeed.
