Hello doc...i am a mother of a 6 month old baby...she is always having trouble in pooping...she is always crying for her stool is very hard..and it takes her 5-6 day(interval of discharging poo)...we are increasing her water intake..and we switch her milk from promil gold to enfamil two A+...but it is still the same...any suggestions to make my baby poo regularly with soft stool?
You would need to be careful with the amount of water that you are giving her.It is important to remember that there stomachs are very small and can be easily filled.
They are suppose to be given liquids , foods that will help them grow. Water has no calories and if a baby is given too much water, their growth can slow down because they fill their stomachs with something that does not help them grow.
Water is in the milk.
You may need to change the milk again if she is still having problems with the enfamil. Some babies can react badly to some milks. Since she is 6 months, she would be starting cereals, these would also help with her bowel movements as well since these would have fiber.
Your pediatrician would tell you which would be appropriate to start for her.
I hope this helps
