How Can Constipation In An Infant Be Treated?

My 10 month old son has not been able to regular bowel movements Since he has been about 3 months old doctor keeps saying it s OK but I don t think he is. He screams in pain everyday only for there to be a small skid mark in his diaper he is due to go see a gastroenterologist in August I need to know what I can do to help him have bowel movements in the mean time I have tried prune juice I have gotten laxatives from the pediatrician I have tried prune baby food his formula is enfamil enfacare and it has to mixed with infant rice or he will throw it up he is also on baby food as well he pushes so hard that it makes him vomit. Please any help for him to feel better is greatly appreciated. I don t want him to need surgery or get sick from this. Thank you in advance

Since your child is suffering from encopresis and it is a behavioral problem the best treatment is counselling, never scold your child for this, always praise when he doesn’t do it. Motivation can help a lot.
