My grand daughter aged 2 yrs is having cough for the last 3 months. She was given antibiotics in Jan 2018. However, she was not completely cured of. Now she has lost the appetite. Hardly takes little fruit.one small banana and tea throughout the day. She gets fever upto 101 degree farh. Doctor advised for urine and stool test. stool test has negative report except reducing substance 1+ and pus cells 0 -1. Urine report results are within the range. Whether you prescribe anti biotics further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The baby needs an expert pediatrician (the persistent fever & cough indicate respiratory infection not responding to the given antibiotic). For a detailed examination, investigations like blood xxx, sputum culture & sensitivity test & x ray chest if needful. Followed by effective antibiotic & adjuvant medicines &B. complex supplement. Baby may also be allergic to banana..causing cough. Changing her diet may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
