How Can Cough And Breathing Difficulty In An Infant Be Treated?
Hiii, I want to ask that my child is about 15months now he is suffering with khasi and cough and sometimes when cough looses in his chest breathing problem occurs I m doing nebulizer with budesal 2 times a day and levolin in afternoon So I want to ask that can I give syrup omnacortil forte because this is having from many days His weight is 12kg Plz help me by replying soon Thank you
First of all, don't give this type of medicines without pediatrician's advice. Budesal is also corticosteroid as is Omnacortil. While Levolin is Levosalbutamol which can be used to relieve breathing difficulty.
My advice is to adopt conservative approach with Levosalbutamol and other antitussive like Dextromethorphan syrup.
If cough is associated with expectoration and for more than 2 weeks you need to consult pulmonologist and get sputum smear examination done to rule out pulmonary tuberculosis as weight of child is also not increasing.
Please stop using Omnacortil and Budesal on your child.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
