Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query your infants have symptoms of cough and breathing difficulty which is a sign of respiratory tract infection along with pulmonary wheezing. No need to worry. I would suggest you to use room humidifier and vapor rub that will give benefits to your child. Steam inhalation is very effective but you have to be very careful while giving it to your child. Give your child short course of antibiotics such as Amoxicillin or Azithromycin for 5 to 7 days along with Antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine. You should use throat lozenges and go rinses with warm saline water. Take diet rich in vitamin B12. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Get chest X-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
