Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been told I sound nasal for a few weeks. Initially, I coughed occasionally. It is always non-productive. If I get mucus from blowing my nose, it is clear. Tried using a Neti pot- no change. Used Mucinex but is made me feel sick. I work with nurses and they told me to use Zyrtec for a likely allergy. Still sound nasal and the cough is dry and more harsh. I ve been on Lisinopril for about 9 years. That can cause a cough; but, does it make one sound nasal? I haven t had a temperature. Never smoked. What are your thoughts/questions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough and cold which seems to be due to persistent upper respiratory tract infection and impaired immunity of body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper preventive measures such as avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages and avoid intake of sharp spicy food. I would suggest you to drink glass of warm water with one spoon honey and ginger extract. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You should go for blood and sputum tests as well along with X-ray chest and start proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Avoid smoke and exposure to smoking particles if you do. You should apply mist humidifiers in room and take throat lozenges.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
