How Can Cough And Fever In A Child Be Treated?

Hi my daughter aged 5.5years is suffering from deep coughing since past 5days. Her cold and sneezing has reduced but has been running fever last 3 days upto 102.5. She was on crocin and citrizine syrup. But yday night she had acute bout of shivering and then fever. Phelgm is deep yellow and productive cough. Pls. advise if antibiotics are required and which one should i give.

Hi,

Since have fever and productive cough. She requires to take an antibiotic. Better to give her erythrocin and dose should be calculated according to her weight and age. You can give Benadryl expectorant. If there is a fever then she can be given crocin syrup. If still, there is sneezing then can give her levocetirizine.
