Hi,

It could be inflamed synovial fluid.

CAPS is cryopyrin autoimmune periodic syndrome. Rare autoimmune disorder.

It has 3 subtypes though, one of which is congenital.

CAPS patients have symptoms like fever, chills, joint pain, headache. In some patients visual disturbance, the auditory disturbance is noted if left untreated or in advance cases. CAPS symptoms are aggravated by exposure to cold.

Inj. Canakinumab i.e. Ilaris is a biological recombinant drug used to control autoimmunity.

Possibly your knee was drained for symptomatic relief due to chronic arthritis/synovitis. Or they might have drained it for the diagnostic purpose to get infected synovial fluid for culture and sensitivity test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
