Hello Sir, I had heavy dandruff last year.My doctor suggested topisal 6%lotion daily @night in the affected area with shampooing daily in the morning with a coal tar shampoo &gave a omega-3 capsule. I think he mentioned something like seborrheic dematitis..The problem reduced one month & again it s back .I stopped treatment also since I got transferred. This year it s very heavy. Now I can t manage .can I follow the same procedure or any other alternative there? Please help as more dandruff day by day
As per your clinical history is concerned, please take medications as per your Doctor's advice and add [Selenium sulfide shampoos or Ketoconazole shampoos one a week] and also follow lifestyle modifications like these:
1) Make a plan to manage stress. Stress affects your overall health, making you susceptible to a number of conditions and diseases. It can even help trigger dandruff or worsen existing symptoms.
2) Do shampoo regularly.
3) Cut back on styling products. Hair sprays, styling gels, mousses and hair waxes can all build up on your hair and scalp, making them oilier.
4) Try to eat a healthy diet. A diet that provides enough zinc, B vitamins and certain types of fats may help prevent dandruff.
5) Get a little sun after bathing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
