Hi I have a question about my skin. I’ve always had skin problems growing up with acne and sensitive skin, but now no acne but a lot of dark spots and I really don’t know how to get rid of it and recently I’ve been noticing a change in how my skin feels..it’s feel very dry, and I’ve noticed burning sensations around my eyes and flaky skin..what does that mean and what do I need to do to revive my skin, please help.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query, you have symptoms of dark spots on the skin which is mainly due to hyperpigmentation of skin due to excessive melanocytes production, increased exposure to sunlight and increased skin sensitivity.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you wash your skin with soap or gel containing benzoyl peroxide. Apply sunscreen rich in SPF 30 to prevent sun exposure. Try to cover skin while going outside. Exfoliate your skin once a week. Eat green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. If the condition doesn't get resolved in two weeks the consulting dermatologist. The doctor may prescribe steroid ointment or may recommend procedure like chemical peeling or dermabrasion for dark mark.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
