Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband has severe heart disease and was walking the dog. he threw a ball and something in his left leg popped...has deep vein thrombosis from a torn ACL several years ago and currently has spider and bulging veins in that same leg. pain (severe) when he tries to lift the leg - no bruising (just occurred less than an hour ago) but near the hip more than the thigh. thoughts?
hi why you are considering deep vein thromobosis torn acl don't cause thromobosis , its the risk factor for thrombosis combined with immobility whic leads blood to clot. AND NOW YOUR HUSBAND HAVING HISTORY OF INJURING HIS LEG WHEN TRYING TO THROW SOMETHING. it could have been anything from againg tearing acl, to meniscus or even muscles. also he can have injury to bnes if his bones are weak. DVT dont come by throwing a ball. Please visit your orthopaedic surgeon so that he can clinically examine and evaluate him and give appropriate treatment. wishing him luck
