Hello: I have been diaganosed with DDD degenerative disc disease), lumbar - Primary Lumbar stenosis Spondylsis of lumbar region without myelopathy or radiculopathy. I am scheduled for a lower back spine pain epidural - pain blockage on Wednesday by a pain management doctor at Cedars Sinai Hospital and I have also been diagonosed by a Dr. of Neurosurgery Spine Medicine. How do you feel about this procedure.... and do you recommend any other before going to back surgery. The Spine doctor said the lower spine plate was lose and going behind the other, first it affected my right side, now I have tremendous pain on my left side. Please let me know what you think. Thank you Doctor
The treatments for degenerative disc disease are either passive (done to the patient) or active (done by the patient). Usually a combination of treatments is used to help control the symptoms. Passive treatments are rarely effective on their own—some active component, such as exercise, is almost always required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera,
Oncologist
