Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have degenerative disc disease and have already undergone two fusions. I am scheduled for a Myelogram in two days. For the last ten days or so, my arms and legs have felt very heavy and I’m feeling some numbness in my fingers. Could this be related to pinched nerves?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Degenerative disc disease can cause numbness due to impingement of nerves. You can seek help from a physiatrist for symptomatic management. He will direct you to physical exercises and supportive drugs. In severe cases surgery may be needed.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
