How Can Dengue Be Prevented?

Hi, My son recently had Dengue fever with fever and body rashes. His NS1 Antigen test had a value of 70.3 and platelet count was 2.39 lakhs. After 48 hours, the platelet count was 2.23 lakhs. The doctor has advised to not do anything as fever and body rash is gone and reports are ok. But he has warned us to prevent recurrence of Dengue as it could be life threatening. Can we apply Odomos on one year old kid? What are the other measures we can adopt to prevent recurrence of disease?

Dengue! The name itself strikes such fear!

The proverb "prevention is better than cure" has never been so apt.
All you have to do is prevent a mosquito bite! If you are in a place with lots of mosquitoes I'd advice you to diligently use mosquito nets to your child's bedroom. When travelling outside you can use mosquito repellent creams such as promised which are perfectly safe on your little child's skin, as safe as jhonson baby cream I'd say. If still.worried there is a new mosquito repellent that has to be put on the baby's clothes. It's that easy.

Stay out of mosquitoes!

Dr. Karan Shekar.
