How Can Depression And Fatigue After Child Birth Be Treated?
I m on my 7th week of Zoloft 50mg. My OB put me on it to prevent me getting the baby blues after pregnancy.Everything was OK until about 9 days ago. At first I just started getting tired and now I feel like I m on sleep aids constantly. I can t function and I m starting to hate myself and everything around me.I wasn t depressed before but now I just want to crawl in a hole and die.I can t get into my doctor until this next Wednesday and I don t know what to do.Please help! What can I do to stop this feeling of hate? The sleepiness?
Zoloft is a very good drug for postpartum blues and depression. You are using it in the starting dose and may need to increase the dose to 100 mg a day, which more close to the therapeutic dose.
Thus, you may take 100 mg of sertraline a day and also you should ask for help. Any suicidal thoughts need a good evaluation from the doctor as they may indicate an urgent medical situation. If the doctor can not assist you, you may use ER services so you are helped on time.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
