How Can Depression And Severe Pain In The Shoulders Be Treated?
I have been so depressed the past two years that I stopped all exercise and have either stayed in bed or sat in front of my computer. I have begun to have severe pain when walking or doing housework. I have a history of a hip replacement, broken shoulders, fractured ribs, melanoma and a brain tumor. I had recovered from all of these things. I was pain-free until about six months ago. After working at the computer I find it extremely painful to move around. I am 70-years-old and have led an active life. Now I feel like an elderly old woman who should be in a wheel chair. Can you help me? Thank you.
Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
Your symtoms can be because of age related osteoporosis or anemia like condition. You should avoid sedentary life style. Investigate with serum calcium, hb estimation and 25(OH)vitamin D level. You can be prescribed calci D like tablet. If needed after examination joints x ray can be done to rule out arthritis. I suggest you to consult physician for examination.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
