How Can Depression Be Treated While Suffering From Parkinson S Disease?

My husband is in early stages of Parkinson s disease. He becomes very despondent about this diagnosis. I try being positive, help to lift his spirits but to no avail. What can I do to help this aspect of his disease. He is already on medication to improve his mood.He just is having a hard time accepting this cross.

Find out more about the disease. It is quite treatable. If he is 50, this is a rough diagnosis. If he is first diagnosed after age 70, not that bad. It has a somewhat constant progression, so if it begins late and moves slowly over the years, it just isn't going to be bad.
Second, brain changes are the type of depressions most treatable by chemicals. Pretty much any antidepressant will work well.
