Hi I m an engineering student and I feel like I m bored and. I don t have happiness in my life. I have to give graduates aptitude test in Feb 2017 but I m not studying . I don t like anything earlier when I get bore I watched movies and other things but I don t like to watch all these things also. Please give your proper suggestion to cope all these boredom. I m also studying far from my home so my mom is not here and I have to take care of my own self
I understand that studies and having a big change in your life like it is happening in your case by being away from family might affect you a lot and in some cases depression may settle.
There are a some things to do to help with depression.
- it is important that you try to be active and get involved in activities rather than getting isolated and watching TV. It is good to meet friends you have good quality time with and sometimes even be involved in some sport activity or gym regularly.
- try to have someone to share your thoughts. Should be someone trustworthy and that is caring.
- counseling might be another helpful tool if you can find a good counselor around
- medications are found quite effective as well and can be considered if depression is moderate to severe or the above measures are not helping enough. You will need a doctor to prescribe you drugs for depression and these would be generally SSRI drugs like sertraline, citalopram, etc.
- very important: if you have suicidal thoughts you will need to urgently speak with a doctor. Depression may cause these thoughts and seeking urgent medical help will save your life.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
