How Can Depression Be Treated?

I ve been taking pristiq 100 mg for about a year and it is having a flat effect on me. It has helped my depression somewhat. However my motivation and energy us still very low.My doctor has suggested to add wellbutrin to the pristiq.But I am hesitant with meds in the first place. Do you think this addition will help me as I have so many plans in my mind and things I want to do but I find myself always lying down throughout the day and cannot do anything and it is not laziness.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pristiq or Desvenlafaxine is considered a very good medicine for mixed depression and anxiety disorder. As you have mentioned, you are taking 100 mg of Pristiq, but it is not helping much. I suggest you to increase the dose of it for at least 3 to 4 weeks. In depression 100 mg of Desvenlafaxine is not considered an adequate dose. So, before adding Wellbutrin, try increasing dose of Pristiq. It will definitely help. So get an opinion from your treating psychiatrist on this.
