Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Diarrhea And Excessive Abdominal Gas Be Treated?
I ve had diarrhea and horrible gas for the past 2 days with a very odd looking whitish/translucent looking material floating on top. At the start the diarrhea was very lightly colored a beige/ tan today at has at least darkened in color but the odd white floating material is a bit troublesome. I m drinking lots of water regularly but it s going right through me. I m assuming I should schedule a appointment with my doctor.
As per your query, you have symptoms of diarrhea and excessive abdominal gas which seems to be due to disturbance of the electrolytic balance of body due to excessive production of acid and it could be due to food intolerance, food allergy, bacterial or viral infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you consult gastroenterologist once for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole, albendazole, omeprazole along with loperamide. You should take a small quantity of food and avoid large intake at a single time. You should avoid intake f outside food. Keep your bed with head on the higher side. You should eat light and non-spicy, eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
