How Can Diarrhea And Vomiting In A Child Be Treated?

Hello. My 6 year old daughter has been having Diahrrea for the past 2 days yesterday she threw up and threw up food with paper in it and confessed that as a dare in school with classnates she ate paper. She hasnt really been eating as normally she is eating less and still has diahrrea. What am i supposed to do? Should i take her to the er?

Hello,

Yes, you should definitely take her to the emergency room. Since she is having vomiting, oral drugs won't be tolerated by her so she will need injectable antacid and antiemetic drugs.

She will also need Intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration. So hospital admission is necessary for her. So take her to the emergency room and start treatment.
