General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

A child that is having diarrhoea and vomiting which stays sleepy is good to be seen from a doctor soon.

This is to rule out dehydration and also electrolyte imbalances. If the child is taking fewer fluids than he loses with diarrhea and stools.

And also potassium (the main electrolyte we loose in this case) and sodium, all these need to be substituted in the right way or it may be dangerous especially to small children.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
