You will need to be given a pulsed regimen of Vancomycin with a a gradually tapered dose of medication or an antibiotic given once every few days. In addition you may also need another antibiotic like Metronidazole to eradicate the infection. To reduce the frequency of the stools and to enhance the antibiotic activity, Probiotics (include strains of Lactobacillus or Bifidobacteria) are healthy microorganisms (bacteria, yeast) that can be taken by mouth are thus effective in this way.
