How Can Diarrhea Be Treated?

Two weeks ago I traveled to another state. Several in my party had a little tummy upset - diarrhea. I gave them a few doses of Pepto Bismol and all recovered. Near the end of our journey I too came down with a touch of diarrhea however mine has not cleared up. It gets better then gets worse again. I only took 1 dose of Pepto myself, while flying home. Since I have eaten well to let my body cure itself but, unfortunately, I seem to be in a get better get worse cycle. Any suggestions?

Don't take any more of that tab you were taking. And eat liquid foods like porridge or oats. And take some curd daily. You can take Pantoprazole 40mg half an hour before food for five days and see. Tab. Zinc twice daily also will help. Drink plenty of water, close to fifteen glasses a day. ORS also can be taken as one packet in one liter of water. If the stool is smelling, get it tested for bacteria or pus and if so then you might need anyibiotics.
