Hello,
As
diarrhea is of recent onset it could either be acute watery diarrhea or because of
gastroenteritis thus you need to see your
primary care doctor who might manage you symptomatically but may refer you to consult a Pathologist or an infectious disease specialist to know about the culprit behind the pathology, [i.e. was it viral, bacterial or parasitic infection] and then prescribe accordingly, until then:
- Wash hands properly [before eating, after using the washroom and after handling pets/waste].
- Drink boiled water and properly cooked vegetables [avoid raw/ undercooked food and tap water]
- Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly before consumption.
- Add
probiotic food [curd, sourdough bread] which will help maintain proper digestive function]
- Take plenty of water, liquids, black tea, overripe bananas, coconut water. As loose motions decrease take
soft diet, soft rice, bread, toast, cornflakes, dry fruits, salads.
- Avoid aerated drinks, milk, chilies, deep fried foods.
because you are allergic to quinolones [
levofloxacin,
norfloxacin, ofloxacin] thus you should not take/add any drug without first consulting with your attending physician, till then take:
- Tablet Lomotil [loperamide]: to reduce G.I. motility
- Capsule Redotil 100 mg to reduce watery motion
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Munish Sood
