General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
There is a possibility of milk intolerance and you should stop giving her lactogen on an immediate basis and try lactose-free formulations. Although apart from that I would suggest you to rule out any gastric infection by proper blood tests. Please go to your healthcare provider for that and for tests including noninvasive hydrogen breath testing to check for lactose intolerance. There could be many etiologies for lactose intolerance and hence the treatment depends upon proper diagnosis. Also, when you will stop giving her dairy products, it is very important to give supplemental calcium so that she may get proper calcium for bone and teeth formation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
