I have a preterm baby born at 32 weeks at 7week after delivery her weight was still low the pead introduced pre nan and she took it without any problems. She gained weoght an her stool was normal. Now at 10 weeks after delivery, she started taking Nan optipro 1 and she start having watery stool and not gaining weight as I expected. What should I do?
Hi, first of all congratulations for your baby. I can understand your concern related to your baby. Not to worry, at this phase infants undergo transitional diarrhea, which means their motion pattern will be changed. Passing 2-12 times motion in 24 hrs is considered to be normal in infants. But off course, change of formula too causes diarrhea sometimes. You can change Nan optipro and try other formula. However exclusive Breast feeding till 6 months is recommended. Baby will gradually increase weight. Take care.
